Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day closings for New Hanover County government offices

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – New Hanover County will close its administrative offices Monday, Jan. 19  in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. County offices will reopen and resume normal hours of operation on Tue. Jan. 20.

New Hanover County Library:
All New Hanover County branch libraries will be open during regular hours on Saturday, Jan. 17, however, all branches will be closed Sunday, Jan. 18 and Monday, Jan. 19. For more information about library locations and hours visit www.nhclibrary.org.

New Hanover County Department of Social Services:
All units of the New Hanover County Department of Social Services (DSS) will be closed Monday, Jan. 19.  During the holiday closing, residents should report child abuse and neglect or adult abuse and neglect, by calling 911 to reach an on-call social worker.

New Hanover County Landfill:
The New Hanover County Landfill will be open Saturday, Jan. 17 and Monday, Jan. 19 with regular hours of operation.

New Hanover County Attractions:
Airlie Gardens located at 300 Airlie Road in Wilmington is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information about Airlie Gardens visit http://www.airliegardens.org or call (910) 798-7700.

The Cape Fear Museum located at 814 Market Street in Wilmington is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about the Museum, visithttp://www.capefearmuseum.com or call (910) 798-4350.
