New Hanover County Special Judiciary Primary to be held in June

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – In February, the General Assembly enacted S.L. 2016-01 and S.L. 2016-02, which redrew districts for the U.S. House of Representatives and established a primary for U.S. House of Representatives on June 7, 2016. The candidates for both parties running for the U.S. House of Representative race in New Hanover County are unopposed, so there will only be a Judicial Primary in District 7.

Primary Elections will occur on Tuesday, June 7 from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. A general outline of the election calendar is below. For questions or more information, please contact the New Hanover County Board of Elections at 910-798-7330.

  • April 18, 2016: Absentee Ballots Available
  • May 13, 2016: Voter Registration Deadline
  • May 26, 2016: Absentee One-Stop Voting Period Begins
  • May 31, 2016: Absentee Ballot Request Deadline
  • June 4, 2016: Absentee One-Stop Voting Period Ends
  • June 7, 2016: Special Judicial Primary
