NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – New Hanover County’s Communications and Outreach Department has produced the first of six public service announcements (PSAs) aimed at raising awareness of the local opioid epidemic and its impact on the entire community.

This PSA series is being created at the request of the New Hanover County Criminal Justice Advisory Group (CJAG). This group of committed leaders from the county and city, local law enforcement, the court system, and the District Attorney’s office are working to transform public safety across all sectors of the community to effect positive change.

The first PSA, which can be viewed below and on the county’s YouTube channel, focuses on the opioid epidemic’s ripple effect and the many facets of the community that are impacted every day. The video premiered at the South East Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC) opioid community event on April 10.
