(New Hanover County, N.C.) – New Hanover County continues the redevelopment of the New Hanover County government website,, with two new pages; Commissioners and Clerk to the Board and Public Affairs.

These re-imagined and redesigned pages feature the improved functionality and concept-based information sharing being developed throughout the site for all programs, services and departments of New Hanover County. A consistent and streamlined framework for quick navigation, easy to find resources and enhanced links will appear on this page and in future phases to improve the overall level of service for the site’s one to two million annual users.

“The redevelopment of the County site and its departmental pages represents many months of hard work rethinking behind the scenes processes and information sharing to optimize the way our customers receive and utilize information about our programs and services”, said Carey Disney Ricks, New Hanover County public affairs manager who initiated this project in 2013. “After all phases are introduced in 2014, the site will be innovative, comprehensive, effective and reliable. New Hanover County will have a brand new site that better organizes information and provides new and exciting tools to keep citizens engaged and informed.”

Sheila Schult, Clerk to the Board said, “I’m excited for the launch of our new webpages as I believe they provide a clearer, more user-friendly site for the community to find information about Board of Commissioner meetings, minutes dating back to 1868, boards and committee vacancies and guidelines, and current commissioner bios and contact information.”

Phases are timed to roll out simultaneously with enhanced online services and solutions, as well as the integration of new technologies that enable the site’s use on various devices and formats. All departments and service pages are under development and their anticipated introduction dates will be made available as soon as possible.
