(New Hanover County, N.C.) – Registrar Tammy Beasley is pleased to announce additional customer service improvements at the New Hanover County Register of Deeds. The Department recently migrated to a new system that allows for online ordering of vital records, bringing more efficiency and convenience to the order and payment process.

The new software, by Courthouse Computers, will provide the following features vital records orders:

  • Online ordering of New Hanover County Vital Records, which includes birth, death and marriage records.
  • Secure online payment using all major credit cards.
  • Customers will be notified by email once the online application has been received, if additional documentation or information is needed to complete their order, and confirmation once their request has been mailed.
  • Orders will be assigned a unique “order number” to serve as reference and tracking purposes.

“The acquisition of this system will streamline the vital records ordering process and also reduce the follow-up phone calls and visits to the Register of Deeds,” said Registrar Tammy Beasley.  “There were no costs incurred by the County or Register of Deeds office for implementation of this new system.” Beasley added.
