NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – To help you find accurate and timely resources and prevention information for infectious diseases as monitored by your local Health Department, New Hanover County has put together a web page www.wellnessNHC.com.
This page will serve as a clearinghouse of information contributed from local, state and national agencies and organizations like the White House, the CDC, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
This page has been designed to easily direct you to the corresponding pages for those various agencies and organizations as information is updated. Links on wellnessNHC.com are direct links to information as developed and presented by these important partners in efforts to keep our local, state and national communities safe, healthy and well.
“Our focus is to ensure that the public remains educated about prevention and preparedness”, said Carey Disney Ricks, New Hanover County’s Public and Legislative Affairs Director whose department is coordinating with New Hanover County Health and regional agencies in developing the web page.
The page release will address national and local conversations about a number of infectious diseases with a particular focus on influenza with flu season upon us.
“New Hanover County Health stands ready to assist our community if they have any questions or need additional information regarding the 80 reportable diseases and conditions the Health Department monitors”, said Health Director David Rice.
