NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – New Hanover County is pleased to announce the launch of two new outreach initiatives – Promise and Reach for the Stars.

As part of our efforts to be the model of good governance, New Hanover County government has made a promise to help you be safe, healthy and well.  Through short video segments, Promise will take a deeper dive into how the many departments are working to keep the County’s promise.  Debuting this initiative is New Hanover County Public Affairs.

Reach for the Stars is an exciting new way to capture your experiences and recognize excellent service and dedication by members of New Hanover County government.

Starting today, citizens may nominate County employees for the Community Service Award and the Stellar Award.  The Community Service Award is to recognize employees who work to make our County a better place outside of the scope of their employment.  The Stellar Award is to recognize employees that go beyond in exemplifying the County’s five shared values: Professionalism, Integrity, Innovation, Stewardship, and Accountability in the performance of their work.
