One of New Hanover County Library’s main roles is to support education and help students prepare for careers. Event organizer Scooter Hayes is hopeful some budding fashion designers may be inspired to pursue their design dreams and apply to NCSU’s College of Design program through participating in the contest. Hayes says, “This year’s theme for the NCSU College of Design Art2Wear show is ‘Tell Me a Story’ so it’s fitting that participants will be repurposing discarded library books into fashionable garments. Teens are storytelling through fashion.”
