NEW HANOVER COUNTY – Calling all Volunteers! Come out to Ogden Park Saturday, March 28th from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. for the Parks Conservancy of New Hanover County’s second Beautification event! Sign up to become a Parks Star and help keep New Hanover County Parks beautiful. Parks Stars volunteers will work on the entrances to Ogden Park. We need help planting, mulching, and general sprucing up! Meet at the Tennis Court Parking lot at 9 a.m. to help.

Saturday’s event is made possible by a grant from the Cape Fear Garden Club. The Garden Club grant last year enabled us to beautify the entrances at Hugh MacRae Park and have greatly improved the curb appeal of the park!

Our mission is to care for and improve New Hanover County’s parks. By doing so, we improve more than the county’s beauty; we improve its health, community and economic strength.

Did you know that New Hanover County maintains more than 1,500 acres of parks and athletic fields? Imagine our county with no athletic fields, walking trails, playgrounds, tennis courts, boat ramps – the list goes on and on. Our active lifestyle is just not possible without access to clean, well-maintained parks facilities. The Parks Conservancy of New Hanover County was established to make sure our parks thrive and grow to meet our needs. Your involvement in the New Hanover County Parks Conservancy ensures your parks will be here for you today, tomorrow and for future generations to come. It also allows the conservancy and our “Park Stars”, to continue working in our many parks through programs, projects and renovations. Join us and become a “Park Star”. How will we accomplish our goals? By establishing ways for people to give, get involved, and get into the parks! Visit us at:
