Airlie Gardens closed to the public on April 27 and April 28

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – Airlie Gardens will be closed to the public (except for previously scheduled school groups) on April 27 and April 28 for filming of Bolden. The film, directed by Dan Pritzker, features Gary Carr (Downton Abby, Death in Paradise) in the title role and Michael Rooker, Ian McShane and Yaya Decosta. The film is a mythical account of the life of Buddy Bolden, the first Cornet King of New Orleans.

The gardens will reopen to the public on Wednesday April 29. The movie will also film at Riverside Park on April 29. Residents are reminded of free admission to Airlie Gardens on the first Sunday of each month.
