NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – New Hanover County health leaders are asking local residents to improve the health of our community by participating in the 2015 New Hanover County Health Survey.

Conducted every three – four years, the New Hanover County Health Survey is part of a larger health planning process to identify the health status, disparities, gaps and unmet needs of the community in balance with community resources, strengths and perceptions.

Beginning in June and continuing through the summer, the New Hanover County Health Department, in collaboration with UNCW College of Health & Human Services, will be surveying more than 3,500 adult County residents. The results of the survey will be used to understand and respond to current and emerging health needs, develop new policies, improve programs and services, and to prioritize and target resources.

Surveys are available online at and paper copies are available at all New Hanover County Library branches. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. All responses are completely anonymous and confidential.

If your organization or community group would like to post a link to the online survey on your website, distribute paper surveys, or host a survey event, visit
