NHC Tax Administrator Delays Retirement

Posted September 4, 2015 at 9:00 am     Category: News ReleaseTax

(New Hanover County)— Given the significant work that is currently being conducted by his office, New Hanover County Tax Administrator Roger Kelley has decided to delay his announced retirement for several months.

The role of Tax Administrator is a board appointed position.  Kelley also holds the role of Tax Collector, also a board appointed position.  Kelley originally planned to retire at the end of September; however, will serve until February 1, 2016.

Kelley was first appointed to the position by the Board of County Commissioners in August, 2008.  He began his service to New Hanover County in 2004 as Revaluation Coordinator.

New Hanover County Manager Chris Coudriet welcomed the news stating that, “while New Hanover County is in the midst of a full ‘measure and list’ property revaluation, it is essential to have someone with Roger’s breadth and depth of experience at the helm.”

A search for Kelley’s replacement continues.
