New Hanover County Responds to Road Closure

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — As a result of the over 14 inches of rain that has fallen in the area over the past 7 days, standing water on Edgewater Club Road is making the road impassable to all but high-wheeled vehicles.  The storm water system is feeding the water into already saturated tidal water.

New Hanover County has emergency equipment and personnel staged on either side of the water to respond to emergency situations.  Additionally, New Hanover County Fire Rescue is sending teams in to canvass the residents to assess and address their needs.

Approximately 1100 properties are affected by this road closure at this time.
