NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners is seeking individuals to serve as members on the newly-established City of Wilmington/New Hanover County Ad Hoc Committee on Improving Workforce/Affordable Housing. The purpose of the City/County Ad Hoc Committee is to conduct a comprehensive examination of workforce/affordable housing efforts, along with the demand for and supply of such housing, and recommended “best practices” that would be most appropriate to improve and increase the stock of available workforce housing in this region. Once appointments have been made, the 14-member committee should complete its work over the next 6 months, concluding with a report on recommendations to the Wilmington City Council and New Hanover County Board of Commissioners.
