NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – Avril Pinder, New Hanover County’s deputy county manager, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Pinder is now one of 1,400 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.
“Avril’s attainment of this certification is a testament to her commitment to continuous improvement and professional development,” said County Manager Chris Coudriet. “She exemplifies the shared values of New Hanover County and is a strong leader in our community. And I am pleased that she and I both carry the ICMA-CM designation.”
Pinder began working with New Hanover County in 2006 in the Finance Department. She served as finance director and assistant county manager prior to being named deputy county manager in 2015.
In addition to being an ICMA-Credentialed Manager, Pinder is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the NC City and County Management and NC Certified Local Government Finance Officer Associations. She received her undergraduate and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Delaware State University.
Avril currently serves on The Carousel Center’s Board of Directors and the Wilmington Hammerheads Youth Board, and previously served on the United Way of the Cape Fear Area Board of Directors. In 2015, Pinder was given the 2015 WILMA “Woman to Watch” award in the public sector category.
