New Hanover County, NC – New Hanover County Government is holding a health forum on Monday, March 27, 6-8 p.m., called The Health of Our Community: Current Statistics and Future Priorities. The event will be held at UNCW’s McNeill Lecture Hall 1005, and is open to the public and the media.

Following a presentation on the current health profile of our county, a panel of community leaders will discuss how social, economic, and environmental factors have a powerful effect on our community’s health.

“We need to collaborate and determine where we need to focus our time, attention, and money to improve the health of our community,” said County Manager Chris Coudriet. “This forum will be a great start for that conversation.”

The forum will be the kick-off for a county-wide collective impact initiative that will bring community partners together that share common goals. Health priorities and strategies will be developed from this and future planning sessions that will help redefine the county’s impact on health.

The community is encouraged to attend and register for the health forum here. More information about the speakers and panelists can be found here.
