New Hanover County Update: Meeting on Drinking Water Safety with Chemours

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – A meeting with Chemours regarding drinking water safety is scheduled for Thursday, June 15 at 11:30 a.m. in the Lucie Harrell Conference Room (room 601), located at the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, NC. The meeting is expected to last 90 minutes.

Meeting invitees include officials from New Hanover County, City of Wilmington, Brunswick County, Pender County, Cape Fear Public Utility Authority, NC Department of Environmental Quality, and NC Department of Health and Human Services. A full list of invitees can be found here. In addition, a pool reporter from the Star News will be attendance at the meeting.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., following the meeting, a press conference will take place in the Andre’ Mallette Training Center in the Human Resources suite of the Government Center. All media are invited to attend. The press conference will provide details from the meeting, allow for statements from local and state officials, and give media the opportunity to ask questions. The press conference will be televised live on NHCTV and GTV8, as well as the county’s Facebook page.
