New Hanover County, NC – The New Hanover County Tax Department will begin mailing tax bills to property owners on Monday, August 21.
Property tax bills reflect the most recent property revaluation, which went into effect on January 1, 2017. The tax bills also reflect a 2.36 percent tax cut for the 2017-2018 fiscal year, which is a rate of $0.57 per $100 assessed valuation, and $0.0775 per $100 for fire service in the unincorporated county.
The tax bills are mailed directly to individuals who pay the bill – either the property owners or their mortgage companies, if taxes are escrowed. Property owners who escrow taxes will receive a courtesy notice of their tax bill.
To assist property owners in paying taxes, four payment coupons are included in the tax bills that show the total amount owed divided into four equal payments. The coupons indicate a monthly due date from September through December. Specific details regarding payment deadlines are included with the tax bill.
For questions or to make alternate payment arrangements, please contact the Tax Department at (910) 798-7300 or visit www.tax.nhcgov.com.
