New Hanover County Officials Monitor Winter Storm

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – New Hanover County Emergency Management officials are closely monitoring the winter storm, which is expected to affect the region Wednesday and Wednesday night. At this time, New Hanover County Government will operate on a normal schedule Wednesday, January 3.

The National Weather Service is predicting a wintry mix of precipitation to begin during the day Wednesday, and change to snow before ending Wednesday night. The majority of snow will fall Wednesday evening beginning around 6 p.m. and approximately 2” of snow is forecast for New Hanover County.

Winter storms and cold temperatures can be hazardous, so residents are encouraged to review their emergency plans and be prepared for winter weather. Follow New Hanover County on Twitter and Facebook for updates.
