NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – New Hanover County’s Communications and Outreach Department has produced the fifth of six public service announcements (PSAs) aimed at raising awareness of the local opioid epidemic and its impact on the entire community.

The fifth PSA, which can be viewed below and on the county’s YouTube channel, is a reminder that each person in our community can help fight the opioid epidemic by locking their medication up, using it correctly, and disposing of it properly at an official drop-box location.

You can view all of the county’s opioid epidemic PSAs here. This series is being created at the request of the New Hanover County Criminal Justice Advisory Group (CJAG). This group of committed leaders from the county and city, local law enforcement, the court system, and the District Attorney’s office are working to transform public safety across all sectors of the community to effect positive change.
