New Hanover County Announces Partnership with Tides, Inc.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – The public is invited to attend a Contract Signing Ceremony between New Hanover County Government and Tides, Inc. on Tuesday, September 4 at 3:30 p.m. Tides is a non-profit organization that provides evidence-based treatment services to women with opioid use disorder who are pregnant, anticipating pregnancy, or postpartum. The program is based on a decade of sustainable treatment within the UNC Hospital system. New Hanover County is funding a three-year pilot with Tides, providing $315,360 each year, to secure treatment for 24 women in New Hanover County.

When: Tuesday, September 4 at 3:30 p.m.

Where: NHC Historic Courthouse (24 North 3rd Street) in Room 301

Who: New Hanover County Commission Chairman Woody White and Tides, Inc. Founder Dr. William Johnstone will provide brief comments followed by the contract signing

The media can take video and photos of the event, and will be given the opportunity to conduct short interviews after the contract signing.
