NEW HANOVER COUNTY – New Hanover County offices, with the exception of the county’s landfill, will remain closed for business until further notice. County staff have been reassigned to emergency response and post-storm recovery efforts. The county will open for regular business as soon as circumstances allow.

The county’s landfill opened briefly today, but has closed operations due to a lack of power. Landfill operations, including household hazardous waste and the administrative office, will be open on Tuesday beginning at 6:30 a.m.

New Hanover and Pender County District Courts will be closed on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

New Hanover County Emergency Management continues to operate the Emergency Operations Center and Joint Information Center in response to Hurricane Florence.
