NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – As New Hanover County officials continue to abide by and implement safe social distancing measures to reduce risks of COVID-19, notice is hereby given that the regular meeting of the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners scheduled for December 7, 2020 at 4 p.m. will be held in the Assembly Room of the New Hanover County Courthouse, 24 North Third Street, Wilmington, North Carolina and the county will also offer the option to share public comments in advance of the meeting.
Persons wishing to submit a public comment on a non-agenda item may do so by 9 p.m. on December 6, 2020 by calling (910) 798-7411 to leave a message or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The public comment voicemails must be 3 minutes or less and will be played aloud, and the public comments emails will be read aloud by a staff member during the meeting. No public hearings pertaining to planning and land use matters will be held during the December 7 meeting.
“With increasing COVID-19 cases in our community and around the country, New Hanover County is taking extra precautions and offering additional remote ways to participate in Board of Commissioners meetings through email and voicemail public comments,” said Board of Commissioners Chair Julia Olson-Boseman. “Commissioners will also have the option to join our meetings remotely if they choose, and board meetings will continue to be streamed live for anyone to watch. All of this is being done to keep our residents, staff, and board safe.”
The meeting will be available to the public and media live on NHCTV.com, and on NHCTV’s cable stations: Spectrum channel 13 and Charter channel 5. The meeting will also be available for replay on the New Hanover County website and NHCTV after the conclusion of the meeting.
